In the graveyard (TS070-040044-) of the Augustinian abbey (TS070-040004-), standing against the external N wall of the N transept, the third from the W of a row of graveslabs. Described by Maher (1997, 57) as a slab (H above ground 1.74m; Wth 0.83m; average T 0.12m) which is decorated with 'a cross in relief, with a large trefoil at each arm terminal. These arms emanate from a lozenge-shaped centre. Three cross-bands occur at the base of the cross-head, surmounting the cross-shaft. A similar feature occurs at the base of the shaft surmounting the cross-base, portion of which is buried. A narrow raised border occurs along the margin of the design of the cross, and the slab features a broad borader. An inscription in Roman lettering commences along the sinister side of the slab and continues along the shaft and head of the cross. It has been published by Knowles (1903, 145) as follows: HI QUAMVIS TUMULO SAXOQUE PREMENTE QUIESCANT TU TAMEN HIS REQUEIM QUAM PETIERE VOVE. BEATI. MORTUI QU. IN. DOMINO. MORIUNTUR. Knowles (1903, 145) translated the Latin verse as follows: (Although beneath this tomb in ashes now they lie still grant them thou O Lord! The rest they craved on high.). The following groups of letters occur on the cross-head: M.M.M.M. S.U.A.M. N.S.M.S. M.M.D. 0.M.D.M.M. The meaning of these is uncertain'. The upper sinister edge and top of the slab has hollow and ovolo mouldings, the underside of which has a hollow chamfer. The top sinister edge is broken off.
