Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Grangestown (fore By.) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Grangestown (fore By.), County Westmeath, Ireland. Situated on a natural hillock in low-lying wet pasture land, this sub-circular raised area measures approximately 51 metres north-south and 36 metres east-west. It is enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank and slight external fosse that survive from southwest through west to north-northeast, while post-medieval gravel quarrying likely modified the morphology and removed the bank and fosse across much of the eastern sector. The 1837 edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map depicts the site as a circular earthwork accessed by a pathway at the north, with a gravel pit in the south quadrant.

Situated on a natural hillock in low lying wet pasture-land. Yellow River 70m to NE and E. Ringfort (WM007-031----) 140m to NW. A sub-circular shaped raised area (approx. diam. 51m N-S; 36m E-W) enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank and slight external fosse, which survives from S-W-N-NE only. Elsewhere the monument has been quarried away and the bank and fosse have been replaced by later banks and depressions along much of the E sector of the site. The raised interior has also been quarried into at E. On the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map this ringfort is depicted as a circular earthwork accessed by a pathway at N with gravel pit in S quadrant of earthwork. The circular earthwork was annotated as a 'Fort & G. Pit' on the OS Fair Plan map. It is likely that the morphology of this ringfort was modified by post-medieval gravel quarrying. See attached section of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI in 1975.
