House depicted on Down Survey (1655-6) map and tentatively located to 'Fairyhill House' in Gortinarable townland. Field inspection in 1995 established that the house at this location is eighteenth century in date with associated outhouses. Seventeenth-century house remains unlocated in the area. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
