Bord Gáis helicopters glimpsed the circular earthwork above Gormanstown in 1984, but farm traffic and ploughs had already flattened most of it. The ghost still pinches moisture from the soil, drawing a pale sixteen-metre circle through crops while the nearby enclosure keeps its own older shadow.

In reclaimed pasture 180m NW of Gormanstown Castle (LI040-066003-). Enclosure (LI040-066004-) lies 40m to SE. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified on Bord Gáis Éireann aerial photographs taken 03/11/1984 (1:5,000 No. 2556) as a possible earthwork. Levelled earthwork is visible as a roughly circular-shaped cropmark (diam. c. 16m) on Digital Globe orthophoto taken between 2011-13.
