Gateway, extant 1839, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of drag edged dragged limestone ashlar octagonal piers having polygonal capping supporting spear head-detailed cast-iron double gates. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of The Priory.
A gateway forming part of a self-contained group alongside an adjacent gate lodge (see 12315013) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of The Priory.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
