This bronze commemorative plaque records: In the house from 1860 to 1869 lived and worked Joseph Lister afterwards Baron Lister regius professor of surgery in the University of Glasgow
Joseph Lister, later Baron Lister, was a pioneering British surgeon who introduced antiseptic techniques in surgery, significantly reducing post-operative mortality rates. His work laid the foundation for modern aseptic surgical practices.
