Cross described in 1996 as follows; 'This cross is located towards the NE end of Glanleam Woods, Valencia Island. It is situated close to a disused trackway and its lower shaft is incorporated into a well-built stone wall. The cross inclines markedly to E and its visible portion stands 1.1m high. Its shaft is 0.26m wide and the width across the arms is 0.71m. It is locally reputed to commemorate a Spaniard of royal blood who drowned in Valencia Harbour during the Armada campaign' (O'Sullivan and Sheehan 1996, 277-8, no. 947).
See attached drawing taken from O'Sullivan and Sheehan 1996, Fig. 177, 277.
