What is recorded here

Gallaun is a tall standing stone in Glanleam, County Kerry, trapped inside a much younger fort called Cromwell's Fort. The ancient upright predates the military earthwork by millennia, forcing the later builders either to honour its presence or to ignore it completely. A leaning slab now braces the stone after it shook easily in 1839, proving that human hands have kept this old marker steady through centuries of change.
