Gallaun is a broken standing stone on a boggy ridge above the Owreagh river in County Kerry. Its upper half lies prostrate beside the remaining base, which still rises eighty centimetres from the earth. The stone would have reached about 1.3m when whole, but it has fallen and the land around it has changed. Trees now grow where the ridge once stood open, and the stone lies half-hidden in the place it has always watched.

This standing stone is situated on top of a boggy ridge which overlooks the Owreagh river to S. It has very recently been broken, and its upper half now lies prostrate at the E side of the basal portion, which stands .8m high and has basal dimensions of .85m x .3m; N-S. The stone would have originally stood about 1.3m high. The area in which it is located is now planted with trees. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
