What is recorded here

Gallaun is a 3.43 metre standing stone in Glanleam, County Kerry, where packing stones and a leaning slab hold it upright inside a later earthwork. Chatterton wrote in 1839 that the stone shook easily, so the visible supports may be the reason it still stands. The fort and the gallaun belong to different ages, yet they share one corner of the Iveragh sky.
