Tulliallan Castle is an early Medieval Hogback Stone in Fife, Scotland, predating the later mansion that now occupies the estate. The castle chamber still stands behind the police college, preserving a much older layer of the site. What is clear is that the place contains both an ancient stone chamber and a newer building, even though public guidance about the castle often describes only the newer part.

Tulliallan Castle is a 12th-century Norman motte-and-bailey castle built by the de Balliol family, who were influential in central Scotland during the medieval period. It is remembered as an example of early feudal military architecture and is associated with the historical Balliol dynasty, which later included kings of Scotland.
