Wemyss Castle is a medieval stronghold in Fife where the Wemyss family staged royal visits, Jacobite rebellions and Christmas theatricals. Green Jean still walks its halls, tall and slim in a swishing green mantle, disappearing when followed. The castle has survived English sacks, wars of independence and a world war hospital before returning to private life. Its walled garden and old stair keep the house alive, while the ghost remains the least explainable guest.
