Balmerino

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Balmerino as Boat (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Balmerino* was a 19th-century steamship that was lost in 1852 after colliding with the *Clyde* near the mouth of the River Clyde in Scotland. The wreck resulted in the loss of 13 lives and was notable for being one of the early casualties of steam navigation in Scottish waters.
