This blue commemorative plaque records: Andrew Carnegie Statue. This bronze statue erected to Dunfermline's most famous son was paid for by public subscription. The sculptor was Richard Goulden. 20,000 people attended its unveiling in 1914.
Andrew Carnegie, born in Dunfermline, was a pioneering industrialist and philanthropist who amassed significant wealth through steel production and later donated much of his fortune to support public libraries, education, and peace initiatives worldwide.
