Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Fearagh (mahon), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies an oval garden area on a gentle southeast-facing slope, bounded partly by an overgrown earthen bank and outer fosse and elsewhere by a scarp. A entrance and denuded causeway appear at the east-southeast, while field banks and drains radiate from the perimeter toward the east-southeast, south-east and south-west.
On a gentle SE-facing slope. Oval area used as a garden (dims 40m NNE-SSW; 32m WNW-ESE) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at NNE: Wth 3.6m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.8m; at ESE: Wth 4.2m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.8m) and an outer fosse (Wth of top 5.3m; Wth of base 2.9m; D 0.3-0.7m) WNW-N-ESE, and by a scarp (H 0.3m at WNW to 1.6m at SSW) elsewhere. The entrance (Wth 2.8m) and denuded causeway (Wth 3m) are at ESE and there are inner facing stones on the bank at NE (L 1.4m). Field banks and drains radiate off the perimeter at ESE, SE and SW, and the fosse is re-cut as a field drain SE-SW. Rath (RO017-102----) is c. 120m to the SW.
