What is recorded here

Enclosure is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Feacle, County Roscommon, Ireland. Marked as a circular enclosure on the 1837 and 1915 Ordnance Survey maps, it sits on a gentle south-west-facing slope among field walls. Though hidden beneath pasture now, the site was probably a cashel, with another possible cashel located 130 metres to the southeast.
Marked as a circular enclosure on the 1837 (diam. c. 30m) and 1915 (ext. diam. c. 50m) eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the shoulder of a gentle SW-facing slope in an area with field walls. It is not visible at ground level in pasture but was probably a cashel. The possible cashel (RO048-129----) is c. 130m to the SE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revised upload: 28 June 2018
