Mound in Faughart Upper

Mound

What is recorded here

Faughart Upper holds two burial mounds inside a living graveyard, proving that death and memory still occupy the same soil. L. Connor opened one mound in 1966 and left the rest buried, perhaps respecting what the dead already kept. The untouched sibling waits beside it, preserving a shape of grief older than the graves around it.
One of two mounds (see also LH004-097004-) located in graveyard (LH004-097003-) and partially investigated by L. Connor (CLAJ 1966, 125-9). Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 17 November 2011
