What is recorded here

Farranthomas holds a flag-built grave discovered in a sand pit, yet the exact spot has vanished. The chamber may have stood proud before excavation, then collapsed or scattered when the pit deepened. What is left is a ghost of shape: large stones, one dead person, and the hunger of sand that erases even death.

Grave, formed by large flags, was found in sand pit (Ó Riordain 1933, 60). Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
