What is recorded here

One gallaun still stands in rough pasture on the Iveragh Peninsula, a broad low slab rather than a proud pillar, while a second stone recorded beside it has vanished without explanation. The first may have marked a route, a boundary, a memory or a ritual line; without its partner, that meaning has slipped away like a path under bog water. What remains is not grand, but company: a single stone keeping a promise the land no longer explains.
