Three stone huts stood in a line on the lower slopes of Mount Eagle, but time and perhaps human stubbornness have reduced them to a single wedge-shaped cairn beside a field wall. Two faint depressions still mark the vanished rooms, embedding human habitation inside a shape that now resembles a boundary marker rather than a home. The distinction between a dwelling and a wall has collapsed, leaving behind a ambiguous stone mass that resists easy interpretation.

On lower SE slopes of Mount Eagle. Macalister (1899, 239) noted 3 clochauns in a N-S line here. Very little of these is now traceable, the site surviving as a large wedge-shaped cairn abutting the E side of a N-S field wall. The partial outlines of 2 of the huts are traceable as depressions in the surface of this cairn, partly defined by wall-facing. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
