Clochan in Fán was a circular fort on Mount Eagle's southern slope, watching Dingle Bay before the land took it back. Four small stone huts crowded inside its ring, perhaps shelters for herders or traders caught in Atlantic weather. The fort has vanished, but the slope still leans out over the bay like a man leaning over a ledge, watching water.

Circular enclosure KE052-246---- marked on the 1st edition of the OS map no longer survives. Four clochauns were marked in the interior and the site was named 'Fort' on the Fair Plan. It was located on the lower S slopes of Mount Eagle overlooking Dingle Bay. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter.
