What is recorded here

Faunin holds a vanished ringfort where a road cut through its southern edge, leaving only twelve metres of low drystone wall in flat Galway farmland. The fort may have stood for centuries before becoming a fairy fort in local memory, its people scattered or forgotten while the stones resisted erasure. What remains is a threshold rather than a ruin: a line of rock across open fields where the ordinary surface thins and the old boundary still shows.

In flat farmland in an area of outcropping rock. Marked on the OS 6-inch maps as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m) which was clipped by a NNE-SSW running road at SE.
