What is recorded here
On a gentle N-facing slope in rough pasture within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). Hachured on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This subcircular cashel (ext. dims. 20.9m E–W; 19.6m N–S) is defined by a denuded stone wall (Wth 3.8–4.6m; int. H 0.3–0.7m; ext. H 0.7–1.1m). The lower stones of the outer wall-face (H c. 0.5m) are traceable from N to E. A poorly preserved drystone wall (Wth 0.6–0.7m; H 0.3–0.6m) is built over the outer wall-face from E through S to N, possibly continuing from N to E. There is a possible entrance (Wth 2m) at ENE, the lowest point on the perimeter, where the denuded wall spread is distinct from the rest of the wall circuit. The interior slopes gently to the N and E. Another cashel (CL009-202----) lies c. 68m to the SW and an enclosure (CL009-059016-) lies c. 143m to the SE.
