Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Toornanoulagh

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Toornanoulagh holds a earthen ringfort, a circular defense built by human hands but named for fairy mischief. The soil may have shaken or swallowed tools, prompting people to abandon honest work and blame invisible neighbors. That is the charm of Kerry: human fear and fairy tale both shape the same dirt.
