What is recorded here

No visible trace survives, yet the lost fort still holds the lower slopes of Mount Eagle above Dingle Bay. It may have been an ordinary ringfort, exposed or forgotten after people stopped maintaining its earth. The fairy name does not dismiss that human origin. It records the moment the place outlived every witness able to explain it.

A semi-circle of hachures marked on the 2nd edition of the OS map may have been the site of a poorly-preserved ringfort, but no visible trace now survives.
