Fairy fort is a vanished ringfort in Egmont, County Cork, where a circular bank and fosse once held a small human life. Cattle trampled the memory flat around 1974, yet the ground still shadows itself in aerial photographs. The fairies never left; they merely stopped being visible to the people who stopped looking.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps; hachured as circular area (diam. c. 25m) enclosed by fosse and outer bank on 1905 OS 6-inch map. According to local information, levelled c. 1974; cattle pen built in NW quadrant of site. Bivallate circular enclosure visible as cropmark of fosses in aerial photograph (CASAP), with outer fosse conjoined with cropmark of fosse of levelled ringfort (CO016-04102-) to S.
