What is recorded here

No fairy ever flew there. A family or clan built the fort, dug the ditch, and lived inside the earth bank. The gap faced north because someone walked through it every day. The fort is not mysterious because it is empty, but because the people who made it are no longer naming it.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Circular area (38.5m N-S; 39.2m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2.45m); silted-up external fosse evident to N and NW. Gap in bank to N (Wth 3m). Interior raised on S side to compensate for hillslope. Field fence (H 1.45m), outside and concentric with bank, to ENE; Ó Ríordáin suggests "there are traces of a second outer rampart" (1933, 64).
