Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Comertagh

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

Why this matters

A fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Comertagh is a circular, grass-covered early-medieval ringfort, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries, with a low earthen bank incorporated into a modern field boundary. Local tradition associates such sites with fairy folklore, suggesting they were homes of supernatural beings or places of ancient ritual significance.
