What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Ballyroe, County Kerry: an earthen ringfort preserved under PO no. 194/1953. People may have lived there, marked boundaries, watched weather or simply kept company with the land. Its name still invites the old trick: call it fairy and stop asking whether it is true.
This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 194/1953).
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
