What is recorded here

Fairy forts are a local name for ordinary ringforts, and Ballydonohoe is no exception. The earthen ridge still stands in County Clare, marking a defended home or boundary point from the medieval period. People may have lived there, raised stock, or simply avoided the mound because fairy stories made the place off limits.
