Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballinorig South

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Clearing the field in 1962, a man in Ballinorig South struck the buried wall of a fairy fort and watched marble-sized stones pour through the broken earth like a swarm of living things. He dropped his tools and left the field alone, not from fear of ghosts but from the sudden certainty that the ground had boundaries and those boundaries were angry. The ringfort keeps its shape beneath the grass, waiting for someone stubborn enough to ask permission before digging.
