Mairi and Daemhnach ran the fort at An Ghairfeanaigh, mapping its irregular bank and hidden hollows before people came to watch. The fort gave itself up in stages, showing one chamber or doorway each time they returned. It liked company, but it did not like being owned.

Internal diam. 26.8m This roughly circular univallate rath is situated at the junction of 4 fields on the W side of the broad valley that surrounds Trabeg. The enclosing bank appears to have been considerably modified. Its outline is irregular, and the drystone revetment walling on its inner and outer faces appears to be a modern feature. It is a maximum of 2.05m high internally and 2.25m high externally. The interior is densely overgrown and no clearly defined features are visible though some hollows and mounds are present.
