What is recorded here
In improved pasture, on a NE-facing slope. An oval area (dims. 21.5m NNW-SSE; 14m ENE-WSW) defined by the remains of a levelled bank (Wth 3.15m; int. H 0.16m; ext. H 0.06m) S-W and a shallow external fosse (Wth 2.8-6.45m; D 0.1-0.25m) NE-S-NW which is best defined W-NW. The bank is reduced to scarp (Wth 1.25-1.8m; H 0.5-1.1m) W-S which is best defined in the NE sector. According to local information the fosse was backfilled with clay in relatively recent times. A shallow linear drainage channel (long axis NW-SE) exits the fosse at NW. The interior has a NE-facing slope with a depression within the centre (dims. 6m N-S; 4m E-W; D 0.2m) and a post and wire fence, running E-W, bisects the monument. There is a curvilinear scarp (Wth 2m; H 0.45m) curving W-N-NE c. 25m to the S, as depicted on latest edition OS 6-inch map.
