What is recorded here
On the W edge of an area of wet marshy terrain. A roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 19m) indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map. Another similarly sized enclosure (KK008-086001-) lies c. 5m immediately to the N. Between 1839 and 1900 large-scale drainage of the marsh was carried out, as evidenced by the drains indicated on the 1900 OS 6-inch revision, and the area, including some of the periphery was planted with trees. Neither of the enclosures are indicated on the 1900 revision and trees are shown at their location. This area is still under forestry.
