Enclosure in Deelis (glanarought By., Glanmore Ed)

In rough hill pasture, on the lower N-facing slopes of Lackabane Mountain. A circular area (diam. 8.8m) defined by a grass-covered, earth and stone bank (Wth 1.3m; H 0.1-1m). Stones protrude above the grass cover on the bank S-NW. The interior is covered in rushes. The S portion of the interior is cut (D 0.45m) into the upslope and the N portion is built up (H 1.1m) externally from the downslope, creating a level interior. This enclosure was used as a charcoal-making site (KE111-028----) in the early 18th century to supply the furnace at Lauragh Upper.
