What is recorded here

Situated on the E-facing slope of a broad N-S ridge and within the field system (ME049-007----). This is a circular grass-covered area (int. diam. 49m NNW-SSE; 47m ENE-SWW) defined by a silted ditch (at WSW: Wth of top 4m; ext. D 0.2m; at NNW: Wth of top 6m; int. D 0.2m; ext. D 0.7m). An entrance is not identified but some of the silted ditches of the field system connect with the fosse. A single house site (ME048-008001-) is visible as a slightly raised grass-covered platform (dims 4m x 2.5m) defined by a slight hollow located c. 30m to the N of the enclosure The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of revision: 27 August 2019
