What is recorded here

Located in a slight E-W fold. This is a rectangular overgrown area (dims 26.5m N-S; 20.5m E-W) defined by a slight bank on the E side and outer flat-bottomed moats (Wth of base 2-5m; int. D 1.2-2.5m; ext. D 1.2-1.74), but the perimeter is encroached on at W by a NNW-SSE roadway and the NW corner is obscured by a bend in that road. (Barry 1977, 218, WX 40) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 19 March, 2013
