What is recorded here

Situated at the bottom of a fairly steep W-facing slope with a N-S stream immediately to the W. Marked as large circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 55-60m) on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Part of the bank (Wth 4m; int. H 1m) is incorporated into a field bank N-E (C 40m) with an external flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 6m; D 2m) N-E, but the rest of the perimeter does not survive. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload/revision: 11 April, 2012
