Linked to the veneration of the Virgin Mary, Our Lady's Well in Liberton was a site of medieval pilgrimage and devotion. Traditionally, it was believed to offer healing properties, particularly for women's ailments, and may have been associated with local Marian traditions or miraculous cures.
