The Magdalen Chapel, built in 1541, served as both a religious chapel and guildhall for the Incorporation of Hammermen, a trade guild for metalworkers; it houses Scotland's only remaining intact Pre-Reformation stained glass. The chapel played a significant role during the Scottish Reformation as a meeting place for the Reformed Church in Scotland.
