What is recorded here

Cammo Tower is a 19th-century water tower for Cammo House, standing beside a ruined stable block and ornamental canal in a wilderness park six miles west of Edinburgh. The estate belonged to John Menzies, then the Watsons of Saughton, before vandals torched the house twice in 1977 and the City of Edinburgh Council took the grounds in 1980. People still walk past the octagonal clock tower and cobblestone courtyard, imagining the servants, cattle and visitors who once moved through that strange abandoned grandeur.
