What is recorded here

Boggy ground and rocky knolls dot the coast, casting long shadows across the grass. People may have walked these paths for centuries, reading the land rather than occupying it. The name still carries the shape of something lost, perhaps a fortress, perhaps a memory. What remains is the feeling that the area once belonged to someone, and that the earth kept the boundary long after the walls disappeared.
