Traprain Law

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Traprain Law as Enclosure (medieval) - (18th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Traprain Law is a prominent hill in East Lothian, Scotland, known for its Iron Age hill fort and rich archaeological remains, including the Traprain Law Hoard. While the medieval enclosure recorded in the National Record may date to the 18th Century, the site itself has early-medieval and prehistoric significance, with local folklore linking it to the legendary kingdom of the Votadini and tales of hidden treasure.
