Dunglass

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Dunglass as Chapel (medieval), Hospital (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Dunglass is associated with St. Gloss, a 7th-century Irish monk and missionary believed to have founded a monastic site in the area. The site was later linked to a medieval chapel and hospital, and local tradition suggests the well or site was used for healing and pilgrimage, particularly for curing eye ailments.
