Bowl barrow 340m north west of Farway Castle is a scheduled monument because a buried chamber or mound still belongs to the hill. It joins a scattered group on Farway Hill, where several places may have marked death, ownership or memory before the castle gave the area its modern name. The hill keeps its own company: bars, bowls, castle shadow and human imagination.
