This blue commemorative plaque records: Old Meeting The old Dissenting Chapel (Unitarian) erected 1710 on site of former barn at rear of White Hart Inn. Congregation moved from premises in Theatre Lane (East St.). Later rebuilding in part due to efforts of local benefactress, Miss Leigh-Browne. Recorded plaque organisation: Sid Vale Association.
Old Meeting was a significant Dissenting Chapel established in 1710, reflecting the growth of nonconformist religious practices; it was later rebuilt partly due to the contributions of local benefactress Miss Leigh-Browne.
