This blue commemorative plaque records: Old Ship One of Sidmouth's oldest buildings dating back to 14th C. It was for centuries a rendezvous for smugglers and a place for the storing of contraband. By 19th. c. it had become a notorious Doss House for vagrants. Recorded plaque organisation: Sid Vale Association.
