Loudoun Castle

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Loudoun Castle as Amusement Park (20th Century), Garden (period Unassigned), Walled Garden (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Loudoun Castle was originally a medieval fortress, later replaced by a mansion, held by the Lindsay family, Earls of Crawford, from the 14th century. It is remembered for its historical significance in Ayrshire and its transformation into a country house and later an amusement park in the 20th century.
