What is recorded here

Dunnyvadden still holds an ancient field system, a rath and two round cairns, marking a settled life from the early Christian period. The boundary stones likely guided livestock and claimed land before written records existed. The rath suggests a fortified home or ritual centre, while the cairns may have marked graves, events or ownership. Together they reveal a crowded, organised landscape where people shaped the earth for survival, memory and identity.
