What is recorded here

Dunkip is a hidden enclosure in County Limerick, visible only in a 1984 aerial photograph taken for a gas pipeline. It lies beside a possible ringfort and another enclosure, yet no surface remains are visible in later images. The land may have swallowed the marks of human hands, leaving behind a ghost shape that appears and disappears depending on when and how it is seen.

Identified as a potential cropmark from examination of aerial photograph (BGE 1:10,000 No. 37) taken 03/11/1984 associated with Bord Gáis Éireann Curraghleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline. No surface remains visible on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12 or on Google Earth orthoimage dated 14/02/2020.
